Introducing Some of our Coaches in the Swim School Program!

Aiden Hi, I'm Aiden and have been swimming for 11 years, first with HHAC and now as a member of the varsity team for two years. I coached for the HHAC swim school for many years and now this is my second year with the Marlins. Also I teach lessons to youth with special needs. I'm in my second year in psychology and am interested in doing graduate studies at Simon Fraser University in psychology and law.
Cameron My name is Cameron and I'm in my second year at Guelph with a major in psychology and a minor in nutrition. I'd like to become sport nutritionist. I swam with the Markham Aquatic Club for 8 years and now in my second year swimming with the University varsity swim team. I've been coaching for 4 years for various teams - my high school team, Markham Aquatic Club, and this will be my second year coaching with the Marlins.
Christy My name is Christy and I swam competitively with the Huron Hurricanes Aquatic Club in Goderich and now swim with the Marlin Masters. I'm in my second year at Guelph, majoring in Human Kinetics, hoping to be an athletic therapist after I graduate. While I was with the Hurricanes, I coached 4 years with the I Can Swim program, an intro to competitive swim program and 2 years as a coach in the Novice program. This is my second year coaching for the Marlins.
Emma Hi, my name is Emma and I am in my second year at the University of Guelph, majoring in International Development. After I graduate, I would like to be an international lawyer, fighting human rights abuses. I swam on and off for 7 years, 5 years on the King Fahad Swim Team in Saudia Arabia, and 2 years with the Brock Swim Club. I was a coach for our high school swim team. This is my second year coaching with the Marlins.
Trevor Hi, I'm Trevor and I started swimming when I was 4 and started competitive swimming when I was 10. I joined the Duncan Swim Team in Duncan, British Columbia and swam with them until I was 16 when I moved to Toronto. There I joined the Richmond Hill Aquatic Club for 2 years before moving to Guelph for university. Lastly, I swam for the Guelph varsity team for 1 year. My summer job last summer was being 1 of 4 managers of Splashworks at Canada's Wonderland where I was responsible for training, development, and supervision of over 200 lifeguards, along with the Splash Supervisor. I'm in my 4th year, majoring in Molecular Biology and Genetics. After I graduate I want to attend medical school to become a doctor or persue graduate studies in the field of molecular biology and genetics or in biomedical sciences.
SarahS My name is Sarah S and I swam for my high school swim team for 3 years. I have taught swimming lessons for 3 years at the Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys' and Girls' club. My major is Studio Art, in my second year at Guelph. My dream is to open my own art school and teach young children the joy of creating art.
SarahB Hi, I'm Sarah B and I'm in my second year at Guelph majoring in Child, Youth, and Family. I'd like to be an elementary school teacher. I was a competitive swimmer in California for 2 years and then played water polo for 6 years and swam for my high school for 4 years. I've coached for the City of Guelph for 1 year and now with the Marlins for about 4 years.
Chantique Hi, my name is Chantique and I started swimming at the age of 6 with the Brantford Aquatic Club and continue to do so while training with the University of Guelph varsity swim team. I competed at my first Senior national competition 2 years ago and went to the Olympic trials last year. I started my coaching career about 6 1/2 years ago with the Brantford Aquatic Club. I began coaching with the Marlins last year. I'm a second year student at Guelph, majoring in French. After I graduate, I plan on becoming a French immersion elementary school teacher as well as a part time swim coach if all goes as planned!
Jackie I'm Jacqueline and I began swimming competitively when I was six years old for the Milton Marlin Swim Team. I continued until I graduated high school. I now am in my third year swimming with the University of Guelph varsity swim team. Overall, I have been swimming for 14 years. I taught swimming as a coach in the I Can Swim Program for 2 years with the Milton Marlins Swim Team. This will be my second year coaching for the Guelph Marlins. I'm currently in my third year at Guelph, majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. I would like to be a police officer after I graduate and continue coaching.
Ola I'm Ola and I swam with my high school swim team for 4 years. I was a swim instructor with the City of Mississauga and an occasional coach sub for the Mississauga Wave Swim Club. I'm in my 1st year at the University of Guelph, majoring in Marine and Freshwater Biology. I'd like to be a marine biologist and do research, scuba diving and travel.
Jon I'm Jon, a member of the varsity swim team in my 4th year at Guelph. I swam competitively for Hawkesbury, ORCA, and the Guelph Marlin. I've been coaching with the Marlins for 5 years at different levels and as an assistant coach during the summer when I was a camp counsellor at Chikopi. I moved to Guelph when I was in my last year of high school to swim competitively with the Marlins. I was billeted with the Carkner family. I have also played rugby and hockey and was mens' team captain for the University of Guelph swim team. I like to cook.
SarahK My name is Sarah K and I swam competitively with the Acton Aqua Ducks for 8 years and then coaching kids 10-14 for about 2 years. I'm a 4th year student in Environmental Science and, after I graduate, would like to do research in Brazil, studying their ecosystems.
Curtis Hi, my name is Curtis and I was a competitive swimmer and assistant coach with the ORCA swim team for two years and now coach for the Marlins. I'm a third year student at the University of Guelph, majoring in Brain and Cognition. I plan on completing my Masters degree and work with children in the school system.
Liane My name is Liane and I taught for almost three years with the Red Cross Program and Lifesaving Society courses. I first started coaching with the Marlins in the spring session last year. I'm a 2nd year student, majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. When I finish, I'd like to go to law school in order to become a lawyer.
Katie Hi, I'm Katie, in second year in Biomedical Sciences at Guelph. I want to go into veterinary medicine after I graduate. I'm a lifeguard and swim instructor and have taught many of the courses for lifesaving.
